Welcome back!
After extensive work over several months, our game is gradually reaching its final state, all thanks to each of the advancements made by the team.
Updates
Since the last devlog, as a team, we have focused on improving and finalizing important aspects of the combat and the main mechanics of the video game. Here are the latest updates:
- Completed models: The 3D models of the characters are finally finished. They have been colored for differentiation and have been given new animations, including a right punch, a left punch, and dodging moves to the right and left.
- More dynamic combat: With the new animations for the models, new movements have been added to the combat, one for each animation.
- Combat bug fix: The issue occurring during combat, where pressing many controls simultaneously would cause the hitboxes to move from their original positions, resulting in hits not registering or hitting when the move was in the air, has been fixed.
Next steps
Our next steps to finalize the project are:
- Finish the map model and finally use it in the video game.
- Improve visual aspects of the main menu, such as its background and font.
- Add functionality to all the buttons on the main menu, and add a new button that, when pressed, explains how to play for each player. This is due to the number of buttons used in combat.
